How to Find the License Key of Installed VMware Workstation

When you need to install VMware Workstation in a new computer or reinstall it for some reasons, it will require you to enter a license key to activate it. However, it seems that there is no shortcut to find license key of an installed VMware Workstation. Take it easy! Method 1: Find VMware license key via My VMware

If you have ever purchased a license key of VMware Workstation with your account but you can't retrieve the license key, you can try to get it back on My VMware. It is worth mentioning that only Super Users, Procurement Contacts, and users with View License Keys & User Permissions can view license keys on My VMware. First of all, you need to login in to My VMware with your account and then select License Keys option. You will see multiple license key folders here and you need to check which one contains the VMware license key. Once you found it, you will get the license key of VMware Workstation easily.

Method 2: Find VMware license key by third-party tool

The x of License.ws.x is various based on the version of VMware Workstation like VMware Workstation 15, 14, 12, etc.

Step 3: On the right panel, the value of Serial is the license key of VMware Workstation. You can double-click it and copy the license key of VMware Workstation. That's all.
