4 Steps to Install Windows 10 From USB Bootable Media
As a computer administrator of my company, I haven't use CD/DVD-ROM for more than 5 years. Without CD/DVD-ROM, I install Windows 10 and Windows 7 system with USB drive, and install drives from internet, so I build all computers for my company without CD/DVD ROM. Here I want to share you how to install Windows 10 system with a USB drive.
You must prepare:
- Another Windows or Mac computer with internet accessible.
- A USB flash drive with more than 8GB capacity.
4 Steps to install Windows 10 from USB:
Step 1. Download Windows 10 DVD/USB download tool from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Step 2. Run Windows 10 DVD/USB download tool to create a Windows 10 USB Bootable Media.
1. Select"Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC" option, and click "Next".
2. Click "Next".
3. Select "USB Drive" option, and click "Next".
4. Select USB drive, and click "Next".
5. Downloading Windows 10 and write to USB drive.
6. Create Windows 10 usb bootable media complete, and you can use the usb drive to install Windows system.
Step 3. Boot the new computer from Windows 10 USB Bootable Media.
Insert Windows 10 USB Bootable Media to new computer, and start the new computer, it will boot from Windows 10 USB Bootable media, and Windows 10 setup program will start.
Note: If fail to boot from Windows 10 USB Bootable Media, you need to set your computer to boot from USB drive.
Step 4. Wizard to Install Windows 10. After Windows 10 setup program starts, follow the Windows setup wizard to install Windows 10.
1. Click "Next".
2. Click "Install Now".
3. Click "Next".
4. Select "Custom: Install Windows only (Advanced)".
5. New a partition for Windows system. I recommend you to create a new partition larger than 100G for system drive. Select partition and click "Next".
6. Select the version you want to install.
7. Installing Windows.
8. Select "Use Express setting".
9. Choose "Join a local Active Directory domain", and click "Next".
10. Create account and password.
11. Select "Not Now".
12. Install Windows Successfully. Now you can enjoy Windows.
