Solved: Images Not Loading on Chrome
Images won't load in your Chrome browser? Or are you only seeing the broken image icons on Chrome? Don't worry, this article lists six methods for you to fix the images not loading or showing issue. You can just try one or two of them until you find a fix.
1. Check the Show All Images Option
Before trying other fixes, you should check if your chrome has the "Show images option" enabled.
Step 1: Open Chrome and copy the path chrome://settings/content/images and paste it into the URL bar.
Step 2: In the images menu, make sure the toggle next to Sites can show images is turned on.
2. Check Javascript Settings
Some web pages use Javascript code to load images on the page, so if you disable Javascript in Chrome, the images will not be loaded on the page.
Step 1: Open Chrome and copy the path chrome://settings/content/javascript and paste it into the URL bar.
Step 2: In Javascript settings, make sure Sites can use Javascript is enabled.
3. Rename the Chrome Data Folder
Deleted or corrupted Chrome data folders may cause images to not load in Chrome. You can fix it by renaming the default folder.
Step 1: Press Win + R to open Run dialog, type %localappdata% and select OK.
Step 2: When the Windows Browser window opens, navigate to the followoing key:
//AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data
Step 3: Locate Default folder, replace the name of the Default folder with anything else.
Step 4: After restarting Chrome, Chrome will recreate a new default folder in user data. If you can't see the image because of the old default folder, now you can see the image.
4. Try Different DNS Servers
Google public DNS provides you with a speed boost and an increased security. Try changing the DNS server on your PC to the Google Public DNS addresses to help resolve the image issue.
Step 1: Right-click the Start and select Control Panel.
Step 2: Under Network and Internet, select View network status and tasks.
Step 3: Select Change adapter settings in the left navigation menu.
Step 4: Right-click the active network adapter that you are using and click Properties.
Step 5: In the window, click Internet Protocol Version 4 ( TCP/IPv4) and select Properties button.
Step 6: Select Use the following DNS server addresses. Enter 8.8.8.8 for the Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. Then click OK.
5. Try Private Browsing Mode
The problem with loading images can also be caused by browser extensions, especially if you are running a lot of extensions, so starting incognito mode is a good way to start the browser without loading any extensions.
Step 1: Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top-right corner, then select New Incognito window.
Step 2: Try loading the problematic web page in this incognito window.
6. Clear Chrome Cache & Cookies
