5 Simple Ways to Fix CTF Loader Issues in Windows 11/10

CTF Loader, short for Collaborative Translation Framework, functions to monitor active windows and provide text input support for keyboarding, speech recognition, handwriting recognition and speech-to-text translation. When you are applying any MS Office program, you can see the process running as CTF Loader or ctfmon.exe in the Task Manager. However, you may encounter errors related to this process, which could lead to a slow system performance and high CPU usage. Nevertheless, there's no need to worry. Part 1: Is CTF Loader a virus?

To be true, the CTF Loader has nothing to do with virus or malware. It is a legitimate service running on exe files in the background. Besides providing text support for Windows users, CTF Loader is also used to activate the Microsoft Office language bar, enabling you to switch seamlessly between different input languages.

Part 2: How to fix CTF Loader errors

1. Delete ctfmon.exe files

Step 1: Press Windows+E to open File Explorer and select This PC.

Step 2: Navigate to the below folder path:

  • ● C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (for 64-bit systems)
  • ● C:\Windows\System32  (for 32-bit systems)

Step 3: Type ctf in the search box at the top-right corner, and press Enter.

Step 4: Right-click on the executable file and choose Delete from the menu.

Step 5: Restart your PC after deleting all the executable files.

2. Full scan Windows system

Step 1: Type and search Windows Security in the search bar and open it.

3. Disable Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service

Step 1: Press Windows+R to open run command and type services.msc in the open box. Click OK to open Services.

Step 2: In Services window, scroll down to find a service named Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel, right-click on it and select Properties.

Step 3: Then choose General tab, select Disabled form the drop down menu next to Startup type. Then click Apply to save changes and OK to close the window.

Step 4: Reboot your PC.

4. Manage CTF Loader startup via Task Scheduler

Step 1: Search Task Scheduler in the Start menu and open it.

Step 2: In the Task Scheduler window, expand Task Scheduler Library and select Microsoft>Windows>TextServicesFramework.

Step 3: At the right pane, right-click on MsCtfMonitor and choose Disable from the context menu.

5. Uninstall the latest Windows update

Step 1: Press Windows+I to open Settings and Select Update & Security>Windows Update.

Step 2: Click View update history.
