In fact, there's no need to download extra tools, since Windows has a built-in Print to PDF feature. This article will detail how to use this Windows feature to create a PDF from multiple images . This method is not only applicable to Windows 10 and 11, but also to earlier versions like Windows 7 and 8.
Guide on converting images into a PDF
Before combining images into a PDF file, you'd better rearrange the image files in File Explorer, sorting them in the order you want them to appear in the PDF, for which renaming is a must. Follow the steps outlined below when you put all the images in the right order.
Step 1: Have all the images selected and right-click on them, then select Print form the menu.
Step 2: Once the Print Pictures window pops up, select Microsoft Print to PDF from the Printer section.
Step 3: Select a paper size according to your needs. Please note that images cannot be stitched together if you choose Statement and A5. There will only be one option on the right side of the image-full page photo, which means that after the pictures are converted to a PDF, only one image can be displayed per page. If you desire to display more than one photo on a page, try other paper size.
Step 4: Select a layout and determine the copies of each picture.
Step 5: If you want the image to be placed at the initial width and height, please uncheck the Fit picture to frame. This fit image to frame option will enlarge the image to fullfill the paper size and may cut away the edges of the image.
Step 6: Click Print to create the PDF file.
Step 7: Then the Save Output As box will open, choose the location where you want to save the PDF file, enter the file name and click Save.
That's all, we successfully created a six-page PDF from six photos. Through saving the print output as a new PDF file, the Microsoft Print to PDF feature works for other file format as well, such as vbs and txt. It is a virtual printer for the whole system.
